ABOUT THE BAVARIAN BROTHERS |
Are they Brothers?
Well yes! 2 of them are brothers -Bruce and Roger
How did two brothers from Somerset Massachusetts end up in a Bavarian Band?
It all began back in the late 70's when a group of then college students would visit
Crotchett Mountain on the weekends to ski.
Every weekend a band would play in the lodge for Apre' Ski "The Hugo Helmer Band"
Thus began a lifelong friendship with Hugo Helmer the original founder of the band.
Hugo was originally from Germany and brought his love for his country and its music to the mountains of New Hampshire.
Roger originally started with the band as a tuba player and later switched to accordion.
Roger has now been performing traditional Bavarian Folk Songs shared by Hugo for the past 40 years.
Many years were spend playing and skiing at Crotchett Mountain. As the band grew the name was changed to King Ludwig's Bavarian Band.
Bruce joined the band at this time and the band continued to perform throughout New England as well as expanding its performances to Snowbird in Utah for the 20th Anniversary.
Roger, Bruce, and Mario, now make up the Bavarian Brothers - Performing throughout New England for the past 15 years at Ski Area's and Octoberfest, Summer~fest, and Private Parties
